The question, “What drew you to dentistry?” always comes up in casual conversation with a friend or stranger. For me, my passion for dentistry started as a pre-teen when I first started orthodontic treatment. We are all familiar with that awkward pre-teen stage, and having a smile one does not truly love will not help the issue. After the orthodontist gifted me with a smile I am now proud to show off, I immediately wanted to help others create their “perfect smile.” A smile is one of the most impactful tools a person can carry, and just a single smile can light up an entire room. Re-creating others’ smiles has led me to networking with, and learning from, some of the most acclaimed cosmetic dentists in the world.
Throughout dental school, I received numerous awards including: The Triolo Leadership Award, Designated Group Practice Leader, and the Honorable Esthetic Achievement Award; however, I am most proud of being recognized by the Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry as an award winning dentist.
I am originally from a small town in Southeast Texas, Bridge City. The “small town, family first” mindset is the pillar to how I treat my patients, family and friends. When I am not practicing dentistry, I love participating in all things outdoors, various fitness activities, playing golf and other sports, and spending time with my family and friends. I attended Lamar University as a Mirabeau Scholar, earning a B.S. degree in Chemistry with a Biochemistry option. I continued my education at The University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston, where I graduated with my D.D.S in 2017.
I have a passion and desire to become a better dentist every day. I have attended various Continuing Education courses to allow myself to keep up with the latest techniques and materials in the ever-evolving field of dentistry, which allows my patients to have a more enjoyable dental experience. I am proud to serve the Austin community with Dr. B.J. Meyers & Associates Family Dentistry!
